Developing More Curious Minds

Inquiry is the beginning of meaningful learning. Explore the many dimensions of developing cultures of inquisitiveness. Modeling the inquiry process; experience curricular development strategies (KWHLAQ) that challenge students to identify curiosities within all subjects; assessment models and instructional strategies such as use of journals and critical thinking questions that can be used to challenge claims, judgments and conclusions.

Problem-Based Learning
Experience an inquiry-based approach to engaging students in identifying their questions about
significant concepts within content, conducting rigorous investigations, thinking critically about results and sharing findings in authentic settings.

Teaching for Thoughtfulness

How do we create environments that invite the thoughtfulness of students-their critical and productive thinking abilities as well as crucial dispositions such as openness, cooperation and risk taking. Considers lesson/unit planning that include problem solving, critical creative and reflective thinking , assessment and leadership strategies.

Creating Communities of Inquiry

How do we assess our own inquisitiveness and the status of inquiry within our organizations? What can we do to develop communities of learning and inquiry
?
